The Texas Entertainment and Media Industries Symposium will showcase the breadth of film, TV, music, gaming, and digital media opportunities available in Texas. This all-day event will take place on Friday, September 20, at the Moody College of Communication on the UT Austin campus. We welcome students, industry leaders, and members of the Texas film community to celebrate and investigate the media ecosystem of the Lone Star State.

As part of the Computational Social Science Speaker Series, Dr. S. Shyam Sundar, Professor at Penn State will be giving a talk on Friday, September 20th, at 1:30pm, DMC 5.102. This talk will discuss the psychology of human-AI interaction in the contexts of online political expression, fake news, and content moderation, guided by the speaker’s theory of interactive media effects (TIME) and providing implications for socially responsible AI media for future of democracy. Interested faculty, staff, and graduate students can sign up for meeting slots. Lunch spots are also available for graduate students.
