
In Somos pequeñas, Zara, a young Seri woman who sings in her community's Evangelical church, asks Celika to participate in a rap contest. Her friend accepts, but plans change the night of the concert when Celika decides to follow her urge of freedom.
María Fernanda Galindo is an award-winning Mexican screenwriter, director, and film producer. Her international festival awards include Best Director at the Andromeda Film Festival and Best Documentary at the Feminist Border Arts Film Festival in New Mexico. She has directed the short films Somos pequeñas (2021), Bajo el agua (2018), and Mirar detrás (2013).
