The Radio-Television-Film department invites students, faculty, and the public to an open house to show off our new foley stage and Dolby Atmos mixing suite!
Come meet RTF Audio Area Head, Korey Pereira (Stranger Things, Prey), and foley artist, Susan Fitz-Simon (Hitman, Orange is the New Black), and check out our new space in CMB 2.124.
Event highlights:
- Take a mini-masterclass with Susan Fitz-Simon on what it's like to be a foley artist and try your hands (or feet) at recording your own foley sounds!
- Hear a Dolby Atmos demo in 7.1.4. and play with panning sounds around the room!
- Enjoy refreshments: coffee all day, breakfast tacos in the morning, and cookies in the afternoon.
About the RTF Foley Stage/Dolby Atmos Mix Suite
The new UTRTF Audio Suite features a fully equipped foley stage with three pits and a large collection of props. This space will also be used for recording ADR and Voiceover. The suite also includes a control room with Rupert Neve Designs preamps and doubles as a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos Home Theatre mixing space for film, television, and games. There is also a secondary 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos mixing room in the suite.
