
John Branch is a writer-at-large for The New York Times,
where he has been a staff reporter for 20 years, and was
awarded the Pulitzer Prize in Feature Writing in 2013.
Raised in Colorado and a graduate of the University of
Colorado, Boulder, he has spent most of his career
uncovering human-interest stories at all levels of sports,
specializing in the hidden corners. He has written three
books, including Side country, a collection of favorite New
York Times stories. He now writes about a wide swath of
society, from the environment to politics, from his home
near San Francisco.
His lecture will feature his experience in the Sports Journalism feild.
